About The Pirates

The Port Adelaide Lion Soccer Club was originally founded in 1903 under the name of Port Adelaide British Football Club. In years to follow Port Adelaide merged with Cheltenham British Football Club (1914), Port Thistle Soccer Club (1956) and as recently as 1993 with the USC Lion Soccer Club to form the Port Adelaide Lion Soccer Club currently known as the Pirates.

With more than 100 years of tradition we are proud of our past achievements, winning countless championships at various levels and grades from seniors down through to the juniors.

As proud as we are of our history, the Pirates recognize that any future success must and will come from our junior teams. Junior developments is and will always be a high priority to the club, whilst promoting and encouraging a family like atmosphere for players and their families.

The Pirates welcome all supporters and newcommers to the club with the intention of establishing the Pirates as the most respected club on and off the field in South Australia.

Soccer in Australia is the healthiest it has ever been and the Pirates will endeavor to promote the game professionally and passionately.
